The Bourdons go to Europe

Click on the image below to see the Picasa Web albums of our Eurotrip.

Layover in San Fran
On our way to Europe, we had a 6hr layover in SF which Buck graciously played host to. We had lunch on Haight, listened to Nigerian Funk beats at Buck's. Then went to a garbage party on the shores of the Bay.

London Calling
10hrs, 5,358miles later, we arrive in London. With 24hrs to go before training it to Paris, here is what we did:

Paris
Day 2 of our trip, we "chunneled" it over to Paris.

Milan was our first Italian city on the trip. It is greatly underestimated by tourists; metropolitan men dressed in suits walking the streets, one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world, the town is vibrant and steeped in history and friendly people.
We took a day tour to the Lake Como area. Just an hourlong, beautiful train ride North from Milan, we arrived in Varenna and then traveled around the lake by boat, stopping in Bellagio, Cadenabbia and Lenno. I'm sad to say Cousin George (Clooney) wasn't in town for lunch this time 'round.
Ahhh Florence. There was so much to see and little time to see it all. But we walked a frenzy through Firenze: up towers in churches through museums, alleys and piazzas. What we did see was breathtaking; what we missed will be saved for another trip.

The Cinque Terre
The Cinque Terre, or 5 Lands, is a national park made up of 5 tiny seaside villages along the northwest coast of Italy, in the Ligurian Sea. We stayed in the southernmost of the Cinque, Riomaggiore; walked the trails north to Manarola, and then took a boat to the northernmost of the Cinque: Monterosso, finally training it back to our homebase in “Rimazùu”.

Note: Out time in Rome will be added soon.
